Interpretive Bush Walks
Learn more about the traditional uses and the legends surrounding
indigenous trees and shrubs, as well as how to identify tracks and see
rare birds on walks led by armed rangers and trackers.
Regretfully, children 16 years and younger cannot participate in bush walks.

Mzinene River Canoeing
Catch sight of some of Phinda’s incredible birdlife while paddling
along the river - flanked by lush riverine forest with huge fever and
sycamore fig trees – in a sturdy canoe.

Mzinene Riverboat Cruise
Watch a magnificent sunrise or sunset while enjoying a leisurely cruise
along the Mzinene River in Phinda’s riverboat. See some of the
200 or more waterbirds, as well as crocodiles and hippos lazing about.

Flight of the Fish Eagle
A 60-minute flight over Maputaland’s scenic pans, coastal lakes and unspoiled beaches. From the air, view Muzi Pan, Lake St Lucia, Lake Sibaya, the Indian Ocean and the world’s highest vegetated dunes.

Maputaland Beach Adventures
A 15-minute flight from Phinda, followed by a short drive in an open vehicle, takes guests to the beautiful beaches of Sodwana Bay. Guests enjoy snorkelling, swimming, or simply sunning. A delicious picnic is served before the return flight.

Horse Riding
Equestrians and amateurs alike can enjoy the unmatched delight of riding well-schooled horses either along the beach at Sodwana Bay, or along the shores of False Bay National Park, and finishing with a plentiful picnic.

Night Turtle Drives (seasonal)
(November to January) a thrilling night drive along the beach in search of the elusive leatherback and loggerhead turtles that come ashore to breed. A surfside supper is served, creating a truly memorable wildlife experience.
