Kwandwe lies in one of the most temperate regions in South Africa. Winter is known to often produce beautiful days that are perfect for game viewing.

Rainfall: The rainfall is mainly confined to the summer months of October through to March. The rainfall pattern varies greatly, with the high lying areas to the north receiving up to 550mm a year, while the western and lower sections receive approximatley 400mm.

Temperature: In summer, temperatures have been known to rise up to 38°C in the middle of day. The evenings are still quite warm. The sun sets only around 7:30 in summer, allowing for late afternoon game drives. In winter, the temperatures are moderate though the evenings and early mornings can be quite chilly.
