Madikwe Safari Lodge (Madikwe Game Reserve, North West Province)
Madikwe Safari Lodge is easily accessible by self-drive, road transfer and air – we can pre-book and package all of your regional/internal flights and transfers, book car hire and provide a meet and greet service at all airports. Madikwe is 380 kilometres (236 miles) from Johannesburg – an easy 4.5-hour drive on good roads. Please note that the Abjaterskop Gate entrance to the Lodge opens at 6am and closes at 9pm daily. Chauffeured transfers are available. There are daily FedAir flights from Johannesburg International Airport (JIA) to Madikwe Airstrip, departing at 12h00 and returning at 13h30. Madikwe Charter flies daily (dependent on number of passengers) from JIA to Madikwe Airstrip at 12h00, departing from Madikwe daily at 13h00. There are also daily scheduled flights from Cape Town and JIA to Pilanesberg Airport (Sun City). Car hire or transfers can be arranged for the approximate 2-hour road trip. Private air charters fly directly to the airstrip, which is 10 minutes from the Lodge.

Ngala Private Game Reserve (Kruger National Park)
From Madikwe, it is an easy 4.5-hour drive to Johannesburg on good roads. We can organise an early-morning road transfer from the Lodge to JIA, in time to connect with the 13h30 FedAir flight direct to Ngala airstrip. Alternatively, you can catch the daily FedAir flight from Madikwe airstrip to Johannesburg where you will spend one overnight before catching the morning flight to Ngala airstrip. Driving time for self-drive guests from Madikwe to Ngala is approximately 7.5 to 8 hours and from Johannesburg to Ngala 5.5 hours on excellent roads. Private charters are available on request.

From Madikwe, it is an easy 4.5-hour drive to Johannesburg on good roads. We can organise an early-morning road transfer from the Lodge to JIA, in time to connect with the 13h30 FedAir flight direct to Londolozi airstrip. Alternatively, you can catch the daily FedAir flight from Madikwe airstrip to Johannesburg where you will spend one overnight before the morning flight to Londolozi airstrip. Driving time for self-drive guests from Madikwe to Londolozi is approximately 7.5 hours and from Johannesburg to Londolozi 5 hours on excellent roads. Private charters are available on request.

Bongani Mountain Lodge (Mpumalanga)
From Madikwe airstrip, there is a daily FedAir flight to Johannesburg. Bongani is easily accessible for self-drive guests – driving time from Johannesburg to Bongani is approximately 4.5 hours on excellent roads. Bongani operates daily scheduled pick-up times from the secure car park to the Lodge at 12h00, 14h00 and 18h00 daily, but further pick-up times can be arranged at an additional cost.

Phinda Private Game Reserve (KwaZulu-Natal)
From Madikwe airstrip, there is a daily FedAir flight to Johannesburg, where you will spend one overnight before catching the daily 11h00 FedAir flight direct to Phinda airstrip (minimum two passengers). Phinda is also easily accessible from Richard's Bay Airport; it is a two-hour chauffeur-driven road transfer or 20-minute light-aircraft transfer. Phinda Airwing can arrange private charters from anywhere in South Africa direct to Phinda airstrip.

Kwandwe Private Game Reserve (Eastern Cape)
From Madikwe airstrip, there is a daily scheduled FedAir flight to Johannesburg where you will spend one overnight before catching a flight to Port Elizabeth’s national airport. From here, it is a two-hour chauffeur-driven road transfer to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve. Private charters are available on request. Kwandwe is the perfect destination for guests who are doing a self-drive journey on the Garden Route.
