SEASONS
|
| Q: |
Which are the best months to visit
Botswana? |
| A: |
CC Africa Expeditions offer exceptional safari experiences
and superb wildlife viewing throughout the year. Botswana’s
rainy season – generally in the form of magnificent afternoon
thundershowers – is from late December to the end of February,
sometimes continuing into March. The sunlight after an African storm
is incredibly intense and superb for wildlife photography. The summer
rains also bring spectacular migrant birds to Botswana. March to May
is beautiful as the vegetation turns green after the rains and many
species of wild flower come into bloom. The Okavango Delta is generally
at its highest flood levels from June to August. Daytime temperatures
range between 24°C/75°F - 27°C/81°F lowering to approximately
6°C/43°F at night. As September to December tends to be dry
and hot, the game viewing is excellent with wildlife congregating
at various waterholes and along the Chobe River. The average temperature
is 35°C/95°F, but can reach 40°C/104°F.

| Q: |
Which are the best months to visit
Namibia? |
| A: |
Namibia’s dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife
ensure once-in-a-lifetime safari opportunities throughout the year,
and you can expect hot summers and pleasant winters in this arid climate.
In summer, from November to April, daytime temperatures can rise to
35ºC/95ºF and night temperatures drop to around 14ºC/58ºF-18ºC/65ºF.
The coastal region is cool and dry throughout the year. Winter is
from May to October and days are dry, sunny and mild to warm, generally
reaching temperatures of 23ºC/73ºC which can drop to as
low as 0ºC/32ºF-10ºC/50ºF at night. The ‘rainy’
season is from February to March and average rainfall varies from
less than 50mm along the coast to 350mm in the central and 700mm in
