| A: | Mnemba Island Lodge is easily accessible by road transfer from Zanzibar Airport or Stone Town, followed by a short boat transfer to the Island. There are daily international flights from Europe and South Africa to Nairobi and Dar es Salaam International Airports, followed by a scheduled flight to Zanzibar International Airport. We can pre-book and package all of your regional/internal flights and transfers, and provide a meet and greet service at all airports.

| A: | A variety of wildlife includes thousands of reef fish, enormous whale and hammerhead sharks, green and hawksbill turtles, manta ray, ghost crabs, marlin, bottlenose, spinner and striped dolphin, anemones, starfish, suni antelope, butterflies and over 50 bird species.

| A: | Yes. Children under 11 are warmly welcome at Mnemba Island Lodge. Recommended age for children on safari in Tanzania is eight years and older.

| A: | An extra bed can be arranged for one child (11 and under) sharing their parents’ banda.

| A: | Mnemba serves fresh fish or seafood at both lunch and dinner. All CC Africa lodges are world-renowned for their delicious Pan-African cuisine – fresh ingredients, simply prepared with an African flavour.

| A: | Yes, all halaal and vegetarian dietary requirements will be catered for. When making your reservation, please inform us of any specific dietary requirements you may have, and these will be communicated immediately to the Lodge. Should specific items need to be flown in, there will be an additional charge, which will be quoted separately. Regrettably, we are unable to cater for strictly kosher guests at Mnemba Island Lodge.

| Q: | What kind of medical precautions do I need to take?

| A: | Please consult your physician or health department for the latest health and anti-malarial precautions. Some countries require advance inoculations (and certificates thereof) – we will advise you of these.

| Q: | How is emergency medical cover and travel insurance arranged?
|
| A: | Emergency medical evacuation insurance is included in the rate at all CC Africa lodges. This guarantees all reasonable, practical assistance in obtaining primary or emergency medical services for an insured person who suffers illness or injury. Please note that this is evacuation insurance only and does not replace normal travel insurance. Trained first-aiders are on standby at the Lodge at all times, and emergency evacuation by air is available.

| A: | Swimming in the ocean, jogging or gently strolling around the pristine island, birdwatching and irresistible water activities, including windsurfing, snorkelling, fly- fishing, kayaking and scuba diving (if in possession of a valid diving certificate), are offered at Mnemba Island. Various diving courses and deep-sea fishing are available at an additional charge.

| Q: | Is the lodge available all year round? |
| A: | Mnemba Island Lodge closes from 1 April to 31 May each year during the ‘long rains’.

| Q: | Which are the best months to visit Mnemba Island Lodge?
|
| A: | Mnemba has a warm and tropical climate with cool sea breezes. Average daytime temperatures are in the region of 26°C/79°F from June to October and about 28°C/82°F from December to February. The minimum temperature is 18°C/64°F, and average water temperatures from 20°C/68°F to 23°C/73°F. There are good sand flats throughout the year. Turtles nest on the Island from January to the end of March, with hatchlings arriving 60 days after the eggs are laid.

| Q: | When is the rainy season?
|
| A: | Late March to late May is traditionally the long rainy season. Late October to mid December is hot, relieved by short rains – usually in the form of short-lived afternoon thunderstorms.
