| Q: | What method of transportation is recommended to reach Madikwe Safari Lodge? |
| A: | Madikwe Safari Lodge is easily accessible by self-drive, road transfer and air – we can pre-book and package all of your regional/internal flights and transfers, book car hire and provide a meet and greet service at all airports. Madikwe is 380 kilometres (236 miles) from Johannesburg – an easy 4.5-hour drive on good roads. Please note that the Abjaterskop Gate entrance to the Lodge opens at 6am and closes at 9pm daily. Chauffeured transfers are available. There are daily FedAir flights from Johannesburg International Airport (JIA) to Madikwe Airstrip, departing at 12h00 and returning at 13h30. Madikwe Charter flies daily (dependent on number of passengers) from JIA to Madikwe Airstrip at 12h00, departing from Madikwe daily at 13h00. There are also daily scheduled flights from Cape Town and JIA to Pilanesberg Airport (Sun City). Car hire or transfers can be arranged for the approximate 2-hour road trip. Private air charters fly directly to the airstrip which is 10 minutes from the Lodge. |

| A: | Africa’s Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), cheetah, African wild dog, giraffe, impala, oryx, springbok, red hartebeest, both spotted and brown hyena and over 350 bird species. |

| A: | Yes, children are warmly welcome at Madikwe Safari Lodge.

| Q: | Where do children sleep? |
| A: | Two suites at Madikwe Safari Lodge can comfortably convert into triple accommodation for children 11 years old and younger (maximum two children between 6 and 11 may be accommodated at any one time). Regretfully, due to safety reasons, children 6 years and younger cannot participate on game-drives.

| A: | Activities depend entirely on the age of the children and may include the following:
- Special family game-drives (at the discretion of the lodge manager and subject to availability)
- Planet Manager activity books
- Special programmes can be compiled such as tracking for children, birding and frog safaris

| A: | Yes, all dietary requirements will be catered for. When making your reservation, please advise us of any specific dietary requirements that you may have, and these will be communicated immediately to the Lodge. Should specific items such as kosher meals need to be flown in, there will be an additional charge, which will be quoted separately. Two weeks’ notice is required for kosher meals. |

| A: | Guest safety is of paramount importance – fully trained security staff monitor animal activity within the Lodge areas and always escort guests to/from their suites (especially between dusk and dawn). |

| Q: | What kind of medical precautions do I need to take? |
| A: | Madikwe Safari Lodge is situated in a malaria-free area therefore anti-malarial precautions are not necessary. Please consult your physician or health department for the latest health precautions. Some countries require advance inoculations (and certificates thereof) – we will advise you of these.

| Q: | How is emergency medical cover and travel insurance arranged? |
| A: | Emergency medical evacuation insurance is included in the rate at all CC Africa lodges. This guarantees all reasonable, practical assistance in obtaining primary or emergency medical services for an insured person who suffers illness or injury. Please note that this is evacuation insurance only and does not replace normal travel insurance. Trained first-aiders are on standby at the Lodge at all times, and emergency evacuation by air is available. |

| Q: | Which are the best months to visit Madikwe Safari Lodge? |
| A: | Madikwe offers exceptional game viewing opportunities throughout the year. The climate is typified by hot wet summers (September to April) and cool dry winters (May to August). Daytime summer temperatures are high and may soar above 36°C/97°F. Winters have chilly nights and crisp early mornings (minimum 3°C/38°F), but the days are fine and warm.

| A: | Classed as a semi-arid region, rainfall amounts to about 500mm (19.5 inches) per year, with most of this falling predominantly in the form of magnificent late afternoon/evening thundershowers between November and March – excellent season for birdwatching. |
