A:: Yes, all dietary requirements will be catered for. When making your reservation, please advise us of any specific dietary requirements that you may have, and they will be communicated immediately to the Lodge. Should specific items such as kosher meals need to be flown in, there will be an additional charge, which will be quoted separately. Two weeks notice is required as kosher food is not available in Maun and needs to be flown in from Johannesburg, South Africa, so pre-planning is critical.

SAFARI SEASONS

Q:Which are the best months to visit Sandibe?
A:Superb game-viewing and water activities are available throughout the year. The Okavango has hot, wet summers (October to April) and dry, cool winters (May to September). March to May is beautiful, as the vegetation turns green after the summer rains and many species of wild flower come into bloom. The Okavango Delta is generally at its highest flood levels from June to August. Daytime temperatures range between 24°C/75°F - 27°C/81°F lowering to approximately 6°C/43°F at night. September to December tends to be dry and hot, with an average temperature of
35°C/95°F.

Q:When is the rainy season?
A:The rainy season – generally in the form of magnificent afternoon thundershowers – is from late December to the end of February, sometimes continuing into March. The sunlight after an African storm is incredibly intense and superb for wildlife photography. The summer rains also bring spectacular migrant birds to Botswana.

WATER

Q:Can I drink the water?
A:Water is pumped from a well, and although delta water is safe to drink, we do offer bottled water in the rooms and with meals.
